Our pond begins at last. Here is my diary detailing its progression from breaking ground, through its completion and naturalisation to the anticipated visitations from wildlife at large.

I know it’s hot but…
Don’t you just hate it when the turnstiles are jumped with total disregard and skinny dipping ensues?
Thank you. Given I had 20 seconds to decide, as well as it having flitted to and fro, I’m pretty sure it’s a Willow Warbler. Having taken a dip, its feathers became mottled on its breast which didn’t help, as it gave a speckled appearance and masked its true colours. I’m certain however that it was a British warbler and not a German one, as there was no bath towel laid out on the nearby pebbles🤣
What a lovely capture. I'm no good with warblers, sorry.
